Current project

Currently I'm working on revamping the website. Updating the syling and adding in projects that have been completed but never made their way onto the site. Once this is done, I'm looking forward to working on an Inkscape plugin for pattern drafting pants that I've been thinking about for a while.

About

Kiono Kitse is a project notebook for projects that I've worked on as well as a platform for testing ideas. It's intended to showcase my projects and contain helpful documentation but not replicate the entire project. There is a tutorial section for things that I could not find good documentation on and could be helpful to others.

A little about me. I'm a mechanical engineer who works in research and development in the computer vision field. It's a bit of a stretch for mechanical engineering but I really enjoy being challenged and coming up with creative solutions for difficult problems. Outside of work, I like to work on robotics or automation projects and develop new skills like programming. In between projects, I like to work on fashion design and learn about horticulture.

Philosophy

A lot of my personal projects take a lot longer than expected and sometimes they don't quite work out. For me that is okay. I view these types of projects as chances to do risky things and develop new skills. On the other hand, it's very rewarding to have a finished project that actually works. In my projects I aim to strike a balance between these two ideas. Some projects I start out with the understanding that it's going to be a risky project. On other projects I start with something I already know I know how to do but look for ways to expand on that. Expect to see a good mix of both types of projects here.
